Self-Centering Bore Clamps provide locating, internal clamping, and supporting all in one unit, exerting force both radially and downward against a hardened support surface. These bore clamps are particularly suitable for clamping workpieces with machined bored holes and a support surface square to the hole axis.The eccentric version shown here is available in one housing size with inserts for fThe specific locating-bore diameters (6.6mm, 9mm, 11mm, and 13.5mm). The eccentric shape allows reaching tight spaces underneath a workpiece.These clamps are available in three types:

1) Self-centering;

2) Self-centering in one axis, with .010″ float in the other axis;

3) Without centering, with .010″ float in all directions. Clamps have a pneumatic connection which can be used for continuous positive air-pressure protection in excessive chip conditions. Optional pneumatic seat check.

Clamping Action

Self-Centering Bore Clamps are a combination of a double-acting pull-type cylinder and a clamping insert which is actuated by a drawbar. This causes the clamping insert to expand radially to the bore diameter of the workpiece. The simultaneous axial movement forces the workpiece downward onto the hardened support surface of the housing. Downward clamping force is proportional to operating pressure and will vary somewhat depending on the friction coefficient within the bore.

Mounting Fluid Supply

Fasten unit with fThe socket-head cap screws.Two 1/4″ BSPP ports, S for clamping, E for unclamping. These clamps also have two 1/8″ BSPP ports for air connection-one marked A for using the pneumatic seat check, and another marked L for continuous positive air-pressure protection against chips. The manifold-mounted version has O-ring manifold ports underneath the clamp.
