Low-Block Edge Clamps have a pivoting nose that grips the side of a workpiece, pushing forward and downward simultaneously. Ideal when clamping from above is difficult. These clamps sit low, but clamp high, just below the cutter path for maximum rigidity, to reduce vibration. Horizontal force is 94% of total force, while downward force is 34% of total force. The pivoting nose is designed to resist side forces at the clamping point. Nose cover keeps out chips and debris. Dual mounting capability: all clamps are ready for standard fittings and manifold mounting.

Application Information

Low-block edge clamps can be mounted low, just below the cutter path, yet clamphigh up on the workpiece to reduce vibration.

Low-block edge clamps can be used to grip the side of a workpiece for machining clearance, or to clamp over the top edge.

This fixture uses two opposing edge clamps to self-center a large diameter in a V block.

Clamping Action

Applying fluid pressure advances the piston, which in turn pushes the pivoting nose forward and down. Spring return pivots arm back and returns the piston for loading/unloading.

Mounting Fluid Supply

Fasten clamp with four socket-head cap screws.1/4″ BSPP port. Do not use NPT fittings. For optional manifold mounting, use the manifold port underneath the clamp by unscrewing the sealing plug and installing an O-ring. For manifold mounting, the mounting surface must be ground flat to ensure proper O-ring sealing.
